Description
1962-64 Bob Aspromonte Game Worn Houston Colt .45's Jersey. This one's a leading vote-getter for best ever Major League jersey design, and the gunslinging appeal is tough to deny. These are also rare as hen's teeth, the result of a brief three-season lifespan before a move to the Astrodome inspired a corresponding name change. The presented home white flannel example was worn in Lone Star State action by third baseman Aspromonte, who scored the first run in franchise history on a triple by teammate Al Spangler on April 10, 1962. An orange chenille "Colts" swirls from the barrel of the eponymous firearm on the chest, with number "14" applied to verso in black and orange tackle twill. "MacGregor size 42" label appears at interior collar. There is no other tagging or embroidered name or year, proper for known Colts gamers. Wear is solid throughout with no staining or other damage to note. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
