Stanley Brooks received his formal art education at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Student’s League in New York. Specializing in portraiture and figure drawing, he was on the faculty of the Pan American Art School in New York City. Upon coming to California Mr. Brooks became the resident portrait artist at the exclusive Racquet Club in Palm Springs and the Balboa Bay Club. The entire Barry Goldwater family is among the many well known personalities who have had their portraits painted by Stanley Brooks.
His style is a successful union of the rich tone quality of the Old Masters with contemporary subjects and technique, creating a deep sensitivity that has long been forgotten.
