Description

A SET OF EIGHT SANBORNS .925 STERLING SILVER INDIVIDUAL TUREENS
Mexico, Circa 1936
Each small tureen having two handles and a slightly lobed lid, bowl, and foot, the lid and foot edged with a band of wavy parallel lines; monogrammed O'B on the lid; stamped on the underside with a consecutive number from 1 to 8; also stamped with a rectangle enclosing 3, three owls on a branch, and SANBORNS/MEXICO/STERLING; 102.0 t oz. (3172.2 grams).
Condition: Other markings on underside below the stamps removed; evidence of chasing and hammering inside the bowls. Otherwise very good condition.
4 ¾ x 5 ¾ x 4 7/8 inches (12.1 x 14.6 x 12.3 cm).
Eight pieces total.
