A FRENCH PROVINCIAL TWO DOOR CHERRY COMMODE
19th Century
The plank top with beveled corners and coved edge is supported by a conforming rectilinear body featuring three frieze drawers, one locking and each with pierced cut steel escutcheons and bale handles, separated by fluting. The frame and doors are doweled together and with a pair of doors with long steel hinges and shaped, recessed reserves, one of which locks. All raised on a deep en arbalette apron with carved fan in relief and raised on raised stalwart scroll feet. Includes key.
Condition: Some warping to top and minor inactive worm damage. 39 x 55½ x 25½ inches (99.1 x 141 x 64.8 cm).
