Description

Two Portraits in Frame, Oil on Canvas. Man and woman, probably husband and wife, no identification. Both signed: "Fr. Welsch, 1837." Man wearing a blue tunic uniform of a U. S. Artillery Officer and having brass buttons, gilt and fringed shoulder epaulettes and wearing a metal decoration on ribbon. Mounted in a matching deep natural wood frame. 22"h. X 17 3/4"w. sight and 28 3/4"h. X 24 1/2"w. overall Woman dressed in a blue puffy sleeve gown with a lace mantle and lace bonnet and adorned with gold earrings, broach, long chain and sash buckle. Mounted in matching frame.
