First Model Henry Rifle
.44 rimfire caliber, 24" barrel, S/N 798. With early barrel address. 1000-yard rear sight mounted on the barrel. Front sight missing and a blade was put in during the period of use. Early style brass frame with sight dove tail. Early Walnut perch belly butt stock with the early first model buttplate. All numbers match on the stock and screws.
Brass was lightly cleaned many years ago. Just the top of the side plates have been dressed a little, more than likely was slightly dented and dress off. Overall the frame is excellent with sharp lines and has a nice patina. Barrel is very sharp and crisp and still retains some blue finish in the protected areas thinning to a plum. Buttstock has nice opened-grained look. An excellent early Henry rifle. A step above what is usually available for sale today.
