Description
A SET OF TWELVE IMPERIAL PORCELAIN PLATES FROM THE PETERHOF SERVICE, period of Nicholas II (1894-1917), various delicately hand-painted wild flowers decorate the white cavettoes, flower bouquets alternatively enclosed in cobalt-blue cartouches are painted on the rims, the edge of each plate slightly scalloped and gilded, eleven shallow plates, one with a deep base, diameter of shallow plates: 25.2 cm. (9 7/8 in.), diameter of deep plate: 25.6 cm. (10 in.), each with an underglazed Imperial Cypher of Nicholas II. PROVENANCE: Sotheby's, New York, April 12, 2011, lot 368
