Description

Pr. Pierre IV Migeon tulipwood corner cabinets, each having a conforming rouge griotte marble top, over a single serpentine door inlaid with curling vines, framed by a pierced ormolu rocaille cartouche, raised by short cabriole legs ending in sabots, the whole mounted with ormolu scrolls. One stamped, "MIGEON", both stamped, "JME"; with mark of the Duke of Penthievre. Pierre IV Migeon (French, 1696-1758). Provenance: The Duke of Penthievre; by descent Anatole Demidoff, Prince of San Donato; Prince Paul of Yugoslavia, Villa Demidoff, Pratolino; Sotheby's London, Villa Demidoff sale 1969, lot 268; Galerie J.
