Needlework sampler with Westtown School provenance, "Lydia A Middleton's Work 1824", she was from Philadelphia and entered Westtown in May, 1813. Floral basket surrounded by birds and other flowers, vine border. Measuring 16" x 17 1/2" sight size, contained in a mahogany and figured maple frame. A vertical stain seems to run just to the right of center.
