From ancient Egypt, Late Period, ca. 664 - 343 BC. Delicate cosmetic vessel carved from a single piece of banded alabaster. Used by wealthy women of the time. Bronze applicator was used to apply kohl or similar that cosmetic vessel held inside. Custom stand. Vessel itself measures 3-3/4"H (9.5 cm), applicator measures just under 5".
Provenance: Ex-private West Coast USA Collection.
