From ancient Rome, ca 1st to 2nd century AD, solid bronze handle was attached to furniture and caskets (boxes); in the form of a lion head in relief with lovely detailed fur and facial features. Retains two of the original iron pins that held it in place, one quite large. 5-1/4"D x 7"L with ring. Custom museum-grade mount.
