Description

An earlier example from this enigmatic culture! Pre-Columbian, Chupicuaro, western Mexico, from the Guanajuato Valley, ca. 500 to 300 BC. Pottery jar in spool shape with small rounded rim, slightly corseted body and rounded base. Larger than normal example measuring 9"H.

PROVENANCE: Ex-major New York Auction, ex-San Diego, CA collection formed in the 1950s/60s.
