148: A Lambayeque Bird Form Stirrup Vessel
Pre-Columbian, from Northern Peru, Lambayeque, ca 800 to 1100 AD. Beautiful pottery stirrup jar (a form of canteen) in the form of a parrot. Covered in brown slip with realistic eyes and long beak. 7"L x 5-1/2"H.
