Pre Columbian Chancay Textile Panel with Elaborate Border, Late Intermediate Period, Ca 100-1400 AD. The plain-weave cotton loin cloth panel attached to a slit tapestry section in lavish red, gold, yellow and brown colored wool depicting a morphed bird-fish creature as well as a fringe border. 23” x 30”, professionally backed and mounted on a stretcher. Museum quality.

Provenance: Ex Jean Eugene & Micheline Lions Collection, Switzerland.
