Pre-Columbian, from the north coast of Peru, Ca. 900-1300 A.D. A polychrome umber, brown and orange painted textile fragment, decorated in abstract brushstrokes with a wave pattern border and three stylized birds in the central portion, each with a crested head. 22-1/4” x 14”. Sewn to a cloth backing and mounted on a wooden stretcher.
