18th Century English Sterling Teapot by John Rich. Typical form, has a round foot, bulbous base and tapering neck, hinged lid with finial, serpentine spout and carved wood handle. Monogrammed on the front JMB. 4 Hallmarks indicate, Sterling silver, London, the makers mark is attributed to John Rich c. 1759. The pot is excellent quality, has a small crack to the base of the handle, finial is slightly bent with a small ding below, few minor dings in the body. 12 in. High, 35.75 oz
