Description

DIETZ & CO. "CELEBRATED" SLIP BURNER, 3/4" flat wick, non-period slip chimney. On a stand lamp featuring a decorated opaque white pyriform font and Panelled Teardrop stem with worn gilt decoration, red faux-marble painted slate base, underside with period cloth and paper label marked "NOVEMBE...1858", brass cup connector, brass fine line collar of a fluid size larger than burner. Third quarter 19th century. Lamp 8 1/2" H to top of collar, 4" SQ base.

Condition

Burner deflector with minute denting. Lamp undamaged, base with expected wear and minute losses to paint, connector with drilled holes which are hidden by the stem.
