Two sterling silver sugar baskets, each having a reeded lip and foot and with a reeded swing handle and gold washed bowl, one is unmarked and attributed to Peter and Ann Bateman and the other is marked for London, Sterling, dated 1778, and hallmarked PB/AB for Peter and Ann Bateman; tallest ht. 4.25 in., silver wt. 8.17ozt (254g).
