Continental Portrait (18th Century), Organ Player
18th century, Continental and probably German, executed on a thick, cradled panel. Clearly the work of an academically trained artist, depicting a softly executed woman at the organ, staring pensively at viewer. A gilt background surrounds the subject, probably intended as a frame border; 21.5 x 16 in.
Wear and abrasions throughout however the work has held up well. Extensive scattered inpainting throughout. Painting was previously restored, but remains on original panel.
