PIERCED SHEET IRON AND BLOWN MOLDED WHALE OIL LANTERN, worn japanned finish, bail handle, fixed cased red/ruby globe with lightly embossed rectangular slug plate; removable base with bayonet/Sangster mechanismand fitted with glass font, No. 1 collar. Fitted with a non-period brass and tin double-tube burner. Third quarter 19th century. 16 1/2" HOA, 10 1/2" H to top of cap, 4 1/2" D base.

Very good condition with some minute denting, font undamaged, globe with two small/minute surface flakes. Burner undamaged.
