PIERCED SHEET IRON AND BLOWN MOLDED PANEL WHALE OIL LANTERN, traces of black paint, small ring strap handle, pierced top with stars and diamonds, base with stars pattern, conical-form eight-panel fixed colorless globe, removable base with bayonet mechanism and fitted with a colorless glass font, non-period No. 1 collar. Fitted with a brass and tin double-tube burner. Mid 19th century. 11" HOA, 8 7/8" H to top of cap, 3 3/8" D base.
Provenance: The Phillip M. Sullivan estate collection.
Very good condition with minor denting and some light rust, globe and font undamaged. Burner undamaged.
