WILLIAM PORTER & SONS BRASS AND NICKEL-PLATED CONDUCTOR'S RAILROAD LANTERN, bail handle, hinged cap impressed "WM PORTER & SONS N. Y. PATENTED AUG. 3D 1869", blue Handlan-Buck Co. short globe marked "HANDLIN 6" and reverse with a "K", removable brass font with spring mechanism to underside of base, No. 1 inset collar. Fitted with a wide-wick burner. Second half 19th century. 15 1/2" HOA, 9 3/4" H to top of cover, 5 7/8" D base.

Excellent condition with very minute denting, lower wires of guard detached, wire guard and hinge with some possible repairs, globe undamaged, font with some minor areas of corrosion. Burner undamaged.
