Lot of Two Scrimshawed Whale Teeth. Comprising: 1) Contemporary whale's tooth scrimshawed with image of the U.S.S. Hartford, Admiral Farragut's flagship and on the reverse, a portrait of the Admiral with riband below reading: David Glasgow Farragut. Signed: SHW. Size: 5-inches long. Real tooth but exact age unknown. 2) Real whale's tooth scrimshawed with image of Lady Liberty, standing next to a bale of cotton and Union shield, waving to a ship as it leaves harbor. Reverse with inscribed legend "Brig Lady, 1852." Exact age of work unknown. Condition: Both are very good, showing age wear and patina.
