Pair of Ornate Silver-Mounted English Flintlock Pistols by Wilson for the Eastern Market. .72 caliber, 8 1/2-inch two-stage barrels with swamped muzzles and brass fore-sights in heart-shaped copper mounts. Breeches chiseled in high relief with panoplies, banding and florals. Engraved and parcel-gilt tangs. Locks marked: Wilson, the tails and cocks chiseled in relief with panoplies. Gold-lined pans. Pan covers chiseled with urns. Silver furniture cast with florals and panoplies, most pieces bearing Middle Eastern maker's marks. Full walnut stocks profusely inlaid with silver wire scrollwork and rocaille. Bone-tipped ramrods. Condition: Very good. Metal heavily cleaned and showing areas of light pitting and wear to engraving on barrels. One lock shows a missing screw. Stocks with scattered minor blemishes. No flints.
