Description
U.S. Model 1873/77 Trapdoor Rifle and Bayonet. Serial No. 12368, .45-70 caliber, 32½-inch round barrel with fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight. Blued with a case-hardened breech and lock plate. Lock marked U.S./SPRINGFIELD/1883. Walnut stock, two barrel bands, two sling swivels, cleaning rod and metal buttplate. Circle P cartouche stamped on the left side of the wrist. Accompanied by a blued U.S. marked socket bayonet, metal scabbard and leather frog.
Condition: Excellent as refinished. Blue and case-hardening have been refreshed. Stock has been sanded and oiled. Mechanically crisp. Bore dirty but strong. Bayonet in excellent condition.
