Athens (Attic) or South Italy (Apulian), Ca. 4th Century BC. Tall pottery bulbous bottom vessel with disc foot and twin handles from rim to side walls. Decorated in classic red-figure technique on main panel with a nude Olympic athlete holding javelin and strigil opposite a draped female. On the reverse there are two male figures draped in togas. Ground line has a key pattern; there is also an ivy band above. Makers mark in field reverse. 9-3/4"H.
