Description
Fleischer Animated News Group (Fleischer Studios, 1935-37). More rarely seen original in-house newsletters prepared for employees of Max Fleischer's animation studio, during a peak period when Popeye and Betty Boop cartoons were riding high. These scarce editions were very nearly tossed in the trash before a quick-witted family member of a former studio employee contacted Heritage! This group consists of an unbroken run of sixteen issues, from V2#1 December, 1935, up to V3#4 March, 1937. Most copies average Very Good condition, although the cover of V2#8 has several bug chews on the outer margins that barely avoid the charming Warren Foster cover. Other cover artists include Izzy Sparber, Dave Tendlar, Myron Waldman, Jake Ozark (with a wild "left-at-the-alter" Olive Oyl cover), Harry Lampert, and Seymour Knieitel.
