Wayne Boring Superman and Bizarros Painting Original Art (1980). This colorful specialty painting is by one of the all-time great Superman artists, Wayne Boring. Boring did a fair number of these commissioned pieces, but this has to be one of the most eccentric, with the always-popular Bizarro Superman taking on the genuine article, to defend the "honor" of Bizarro Lois No. 1. Some of the more surreal aspects of this painting include the flesh-colored Bizarros (in the comics, these loveable freaks were always chalk-white in appearance), the sky full of swooshing planets, and the field of mushrooms in the background. The color palette is vivid and eye-catching, and Boring's Superman is as iconic as ever, even when being pelted with Green Kryptonite. This offbeat piece, painted on illustration board, measures 15" x 19" and is in Excellent condition. Signed at the lower left.
