Philadelphia painted Windsor armchair, ca. 1775, with a sackback, a plank seat, and baluster turned legs joined by bulbous and ring turned center stretcher, retaining an excellent old red surface over its original green. A similar example is illustrated in Santore The Windsor Style in America, plate 78.
Old red over green surface. Very good condition. No apparent damages or repairs.
