(1922-2011) Two carved wood fish decoys, unsigned, approximate length 22 1/4'', from the Joe Anderlik estate. Note: Joseph E. ''Paco'' Anderlik of Arlington Heights, Illinois, was born April 9, 1922, in Mexico City, Mexico. He served as a radioman-gunner in the Navy during World War II and flew off of the USS Franklin in the Pacific Theater. He flew 125 combat missions and was awarded two air medals for the destruction of two enemy aircrafts during the battle of Leyte Gulf in the Philippines. Mr. Anderlik was an avid outdoorsman and a renowned decoy carver who specialized in loons.
