Gemini 9A Flown Heat Shield Plug in Lucite Display. A section, 0.5" square x 1.75" long, sealed in a 3" diameter x 2.5" tall Lucite cylinder with "GEMINI IX/ JUNE 3-6, 1966" engraved on the bottom. Commander Tom Stafford and Pilot Gene Cernan orbited the earth forty-seven times during this mission. With original box. Pristine condition. From the collection George F. MacDougall, a NASA Gemini Project Control Manager and aeronautical engineer.
