Description
Space Shuttle Atlantis Flown Flags (Two) and Patch. Comprising the following:
(1) A 6" x 4.25" cloth red, white, and blue "Atlantis" shuttle flag mounted on a handsome 11" x 14" presentation certificate stating: "In Commemoration of the Space Shuttle Program, 1981-2011...This flag was flown to the International Space Station in commemoration of your unwavering support to mission success." Slightly rough at top edge, otherwise extremely fine.
(2) STS-30: A 5.75" x 4.5" cloth U.S. flag mounted on a colorful 16" x 12" presentation stating: "This American flag was flown aboard shuttle Atlantis, STS-30, May 4-8, 1989. Atlantis carried the Magellan spacecraft into low Earth orbit on the first leg of its 15-month journey to Venus - the first planetary spacecraft to be launched from the shuttle." Beneath are facsimile signatures of the crewmembers and Magellan Project Manager. The flag has a minor amount of bleedthrough from the adhesive, otherwise very fine.
(3) STS-37: A 4" diameter embroidered mission insignia patch mounted on a crew-signed 20" x 16" certificate stating: "This crew patch was flown aboard the Orbiter Atlantis, STS-37, April 5-11, 1991, which successfully deployed the Gamma Ray Observatory." Minor surface soiling, otherwise very fine.
