A. Walter Nancy pate de verre beetle poche. The back of the beetle is red/brown on a light to dark green glass dish. Signed "A. Walter Nancy" as well as "Berge". Diameter 4" x 3 1/2" Note: The pate de verre technique translates in English as "paste of glass." essentially, glass was ground up to a fine powder and mixed with water, adhesives, and color to create a paste, then heated in an artfully designed mold until the material melted and vitrified into the desired form.
