Description

Beautifully decorated 19th Century Chinese blue and white porcelain vase; ovoid body and neck featuring double happiness symbol with lotus spray on a blue and white reserve of undulating vines with attendant branches in underglazed blue; the shoulder with a register of diamond frieze and cresting wave band separated by a double line; openwork flange handles; tapering bottom decorated with overlapping plantain leaves and above base with a band of cresting waves; the rim features a meander register, possibly Daoguang Period; H: 35, D: 18 cm
