Description

Late 19th century / early 20th century, apparently unsigned, titled in French on base, depicting Achilles aiming a bow whilst seated atop the centaur Chiron in mid gallop, on a naturalistic rocky base, 27'' H x 27'' W x 10'' D, est:$3000/5000. Note: In Greek mythology, Chiron was the wisest and most just of all the centaurs, a healer and prophet, and the esteemed tutor of many heroes, including Jason, Acteon, Perseus and Achilles

Condition

Good condition overall. General light marks, scratches and rubbing commensurate with age. Achilles' right arm slightly separated and loose at join.
