Fourth quarter 19th century, the dial signed ''LeRoy / a Paris'', the movement unsigned, the circular white enamel dial with Roman numeral chapters and Arabic minute divisions within an arched case topped with a book, mounted beside a classically draped reclining woman holding a scroll inscribed ''Egypte / Grece / Italie'', mounted on a stepped bow-ended base, 19'' H x 27'' W x 9'' D, est:$2000/3000. General rubbing, scratches and marks commensurate with age and use. Case possibly re-gilt. Scattered nicks and chips to slate molding of plinth. Clock lacking glass aperture.
