Condition

Visual: Heavy waterstains and mildew in the lower 1/4th of the canvas. Soiling and some scattered spots of mildew throughout the remaining canvas concentrated mainly in the sight area. A few surface scratches and rubs to the pastel including a 4'' line of rubbing on the Dutchess' right cheek. An indentation with minor loss just above the Duke's head. A nail hole on the upper center margin edge. The artist used a sight area 2'' smaller on each side and the margin is unfinished.
