A nice cornice helps to bring together this large linen press with flanking quarter columns, paneled doors, two-over-two drawers and ogee feet. Signed Ephram Lockhart, 1805 in drawer. Pennsylvania, c. 1780.rnH 81” | W 63.5” | D 23”
The cornice appears to be original, but appears the was another bracing on top that is missing. The mid-molding on the right-hand side is replaced. The upper left drawer has hooks and chain to drop the drawer front down (probably used for DVD player or other accessory). The interior of the linen press was converted with a shelf for a television and the feet are replaced. The center strip between the two doors was detached then reapplied to the left door (to accommodate a television). The brass are original.
