Islamic Silver Inlaid Bidriware Style Calligraphic Bowl
Circa 18th century AD. A hand-raised bowl with fluted lower body and decorative band to the rim; the body with columns of arabesque vinescroll inlaid in white metal; the band with a raised collar featuring a running guilloche inlaid in white metal, with a similar calligraphic text above; to the base, an inlaid sphinx on a field of foliage, trefoils to the corners. UK art and antiquities market, acquired prior to 1990. Bronze, 600 grams, 17 cm (6 3/4").
Very fine condition; slight crimp to the rim.
