1795, Washington Liberty & Security Halfpenny, ASYLUM Edge, Choice EF+ to About Uncirculated.
Glossy, with a hard luster and a deep brown color. Soft wear on the high points and minor contact marks in the right obverse field. Nice, even strike (sometimes these are horribly flat in certain areas). The edge inscription, which reads “ASYLUM FOR THE OPPRESSED OF ALL NATIONS,” is the rarest edge of any of the Liberty & Security Halfpenny tokens, and this premium quality specimen is one of the Finest examples known.
