Description

SHAKSPEARE, Unknown Play, Circa 1852. Note: Beautiful Princess, Petitioners and Subjects ?. This is from the incredible Boydell Shakespeare (Shakespeare is spelled Shakspeare on the hidden margin) engravings, originally produced about 1800; this particular engraving is more likely from the 1852 re-strikes of the popular engravings. Hidden by the mats at bottom, the name of the play, narrative from the scene, setting, and artist/engraver detail. High quality engraving, probably copperplate, on a heavy rag stock. Map or print is a genuine antique as described, not modern copies. Framing is imitation suede for top mats, cotton rag as liner mats which touch the map/print. Mountboards are cotton rag or acid-free; hinges are archival tissue, paper, or linen. Glass is conservation grade UV filtering. Dimensions: 17 x 23 inches showing, 25 x 31 inches overall as framed

Condition

Condition: Good to Very Good; no visible stains, marks, tears or splits.
