FRENCH .950 SILVER TEA & COFFEE SET, EMILE PUIFORCAT, EARLY 20TH C., FOUR PIECES:Including 1 coffee pot, H.11", 1 teapot, H.8 3/4", 1 creamer, and 1 covered sugar bowl, H.6 1/4"; each piece is adorned with acanthus leaves, scroll and shell motifs, raised on four scroll feet, ivory heat resists for the coffee pot and teapot. Hallmarks include the head of Minerva (.950 silver) and maker's mark for Emile Puiforcat (EP within a lozenge, see additional photo). Separate cast floral knops and gold washed interiors. Retailed by Alfred De Laitre of Metz. Totaling approximately 81.9 troy oz.
Troy ounce weights are approximate, as follows: coffee pot-29.0; teapot-25.3; creamer-10.0 (also bears the Mercury export mark, crescent/crown mark with 950); and covered sugar bowl-17.6 (same marks as creamer but with Puiforcat's hallmark as well).
