This Original Oil on Linen measures 16” H x 20” W and is titled, “Range Pals“. The painting is signed lower left G. Harvey © 1978. The artist is G (Gerald Harvey Jones) Harvey (1933 - 2017). The beautifully executed painting depicts two cowboy’s in full western attire that are riding their horses in the rain towards the viewer. The background is an exquisitely executed canyon with plateaus and a grey blue cloudy sky. The foreground has dry brush to the left and right of the cowboy’s and green flora with daisies across the middle foreground. The artist use of light and tone is particularly well done. The painting is indicative of the artist using a more impressionistic style and palette. The piece is framed in 4 ¾” 3 section wood frame with black wash finished in medium stain 1 ¾ flat chopped liner covered in tan suede and 1” enhancer in pale gold with taupe wash. The painting and frame are in excellent condition.
