This Artist Proof Lithograph on Paper measures 11 ¾” H x 18” W sight and is titled, “Trail Branding on the King Ranch”. The piece is plate signed Melvin C. Warren 1968 lower right and pencil signed Artist’s Proof lower left and Melvin C. Warren © ’75 lower right. The artist is Melvin Charles Warren (1920-1995). The beautiful piece depicts cowboy’s in full western attire holding down a steer to brand him. The foreground is a dirt ground with sparse plant life and dry brush. The back ground is another group of cowboy’s herding cattle, which is creating a dust storm under cloudy blue skies. Frame is a 3 ¾” wood molding finished in dark stain with 1 ¼” bevel liner covered in tan suede and ½ gold filet under non reflective glass. The print and the frame are in good condition.
