A possibly George III gilt key wind pair case pocket watch by John Retford, London, the white enamel dial having black Arabic numeral hour markers surrounded by an outer minute track, the plain cases, inner stamped with maker's mark RH, fitted with a signed gilt full plate fusee and chain movement with verge escapement and pierced balance cock. Outer case diameter 50mm. Watch A/F.
A gilt pocket watch, movement is not currently functioning, spring has bunched to one side, dial has tiny marks and a few scratches, edge is chipped between ten and twelve o'clock, a few small chips at the edge in other areas, hands are marked and discoloured, pitting to the case, small areas of discolouration, medium scratches caused by general wear, rough personal engraving to the case back that reads 'IxW 1824', thin dents at the edge of the case, wear and rubbing to the crown, stem and bow, and a few small dents, tiny chip on the bow, outer case has medium scratches and is dented, areas of discolouration, a few tiny chips, tiny dints.
