Queen Anne Circassion Walnut Dressing Table, 18th century, the shaped top with banded edge and inlaid border, the front with a single long drawer above a scalloped knee hole flanked by two small drawers, having chased brass bail handles and raised on cabriole legs, h. 30", w. 33", d. 20-1/2".
In good restored condition. The piece exhibits normal past restorations, refinishing, veneer patches and other indications of age and use. The surface exhibits wear, and normal mars and abrasions to perimeter edges The top exhibits a number of veneer repairs, and some veneer splices over age-related shrinkage lines. The drawer pulls are replaced, apparently with antique hardware. The carved brackets at the juncture of the apron and the legs are replaced. Retains some old rose-head nails. Tiight and solid. The interior of one drawer retains an old Manheim Galleries label.
