George III Walnut and Circassian Burl Walnut Bookcase, early 19th century and later, the molded cornice above a case fitted with two long doors, each bisected and inset with two glazed panels, the lower section fitted with two cupboard doors, each inset with a finely figured veneered panel, raised on bracket feet, h. 98-1/2", w. 51", d. 18".
There are three fingernail size veneer chips to the left side of the left door. A small piece of trim is gone to the undermolding of the cornice at the right back edge. There is a small piece of loose veneer at the lower right outside corner of the right door. There is a long crack to the left side cornice molding. Scattered shrinkage cracks to the mid-molding. There is working key present. The secondary wood is oak.
