Overall this gouache on paper is in good condition. There are three small 1/2" tears at the left edge from handling. There are twelve small inserts and minor associated tears around the edges: one at each corner, and other smaller inserts at the center-top, center-right and bottom edges. These minor tears and inserts have been proficiently reinforced from the verso with mulberry tissue and methyl cellulose paste. Visually, the paper appears clean and the medium undisturbed. Pentimenti (or artist changes) are visible at the center and below-center; specifically slightly lighter areas at center, and black charcoal under-drawing around the figures.
