A VERY FINE AUGUSTE MOREAU "ARTS & SCIENCES" FRENCH LOUIS XVI GILT BRONZE AND MARBLE MANTLE CLOCK, LATE 19TH CENTURY. The bronze figures of two winged cherubs portrayed as sculpture and designer with dark patina and gilt bronze drapery, atop a shaped white marble clock case surmounted by a gilt bronze celestial globe, and flanked with end columns terminating with gilt bronze foliate finials, one figure inscribed on verso "Aug L. Moreau". Length 22.5 inches (57 cm), height 16.75 inches (42 cm).
