Purchased from the Davis family in Florida. The framed grouping contains a metal disc with “J.E.B.S.” and a Sons of Veterans Medal. Has a handwritten tag in period brown ink purported to be written by J.E.B. Stuart's daughter, Virginia Stuart Waller, to her daughter Virginia Stuart Waller Davis, stating that the ID tag bearing the initials JEBS, was worn by General Stuart at the Battle of Yellow Tavern. The second medal was awarded posthumously.
